Got Your 6 Announces Continued Partnership with NFLPA
WASHINGTON (September 7, 2017) – With the 2017 NFL season kicking off Thursday night, Got Your 6 is excited to announce a continued partnership with the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA). The national veteran empowerment organization works to spread the message that veterans and service members are community leaders, problem solvers, and civic assets in communities across this country. By continuing this partnership with the NFLPA, Got Your 6 will broaden its campaign’s reach and continue to draw attention to its nationwide efforts.
“We are thrilled to continue this partnership with our friends at the NFLPA, and we look forward to a productive 2017 season,” said Bill Rausch, executive director of Got Your 6. “In addition to supporting the Got Your 6 message, this partnership will provide NFL players an opportunity to engage with veterans in their communities. The NFLPA has been a vocal supporter of the U.S military, veteran and military family communities, and this alliance further establishes its commitment to those who served our nation in uniform.”
“The NFLPA is honored to partner with Got Your 6 and stand beside our military and veterans as they strive to continue on as leaders, team builders, and problem solvers within their communities across the nation,” NFLPA Executive Director DeMaurice Smith said. “We are proud to support the work that Got Your 6 does empowering our country’s military and veteran community, and ensuring they have the tools they need to create cultural change within their neighborhoods and surrounding communities.”
Throughout the season, Got Your 6 and NFLPA will promote this year’s National Jersey Day on Friday, November 3, which gives fans the opportunity to show pride for their favorite on-field stars while supporting Got Your 6. The NFLPA will encourage workplaces and schools nationwide to allow employees and students to wear their favorite player’s jersey in exchange for a recommended $6 donation to Got Your 6.
In addition, leading up to Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis, the NFLPA and Got Your 6 will promote opportunities for players to support volunteer activations to benefit local veterans and family members.

About the NFL Players Association
The National Football League Players Association is the union for professional football players in the National Football League. Established in 1956, the NFLPA has a long history of assuring proper recognition and representation of players’ interests. The NFLPA has shown that it will do whatever is necessary to assure that the rights of players are protected—including ceasing to be a union, if necessary, as it did in 1989. In 1993, the NFLPA again was officially recognized as the union representing the players, and negotiated a landmark Collective Bargaining Agreement with the NFL. The current CBA will govern the sport through 2020.
