NFL Players Association Announces Partnership With Got Your 6

NFLPA and GY6 team up to change the conversation about America’s veterans

WASHINGTON (Sept. 15, 2015) — The NFL Players Association is proud to announce a new partnership with Got Your 6, a collaborative campaign that believes veterans are leaders, team builders, and problem solvers who have the unique potential to strengthen communities across the country. The NFLPA and its former and active player members are proud to support the mission of Got Your 6. The campaign works to change the conversation in America about veterans so that their leadership and skills are recognized and utilized here at home.

“We are thrilled to partner with NFLPA to empower veterans and their families,” says Rob Gordon, President of Be The Change, the parent organization for Got Your 6, “This powerful partnership will raise awareness about veteran reintegration and ensure veterans are seen as the civic assets that they are.”

“The NFLPA is proud of this partnership with Got Your 6,” said Eric Winston, NFLPA President. “Simply saying ‘thank you’ is not enough to recognize the sacrifices our country’s veterans have made through their service. This partnership with Got Your 6 gives the players of the NFL the platform to help change the dialogue and truly helping those who have protected our freedoms in the Armed Services.”

The NFLPA is honored to add Got Your 6 as a charitable partner and support veterans as they continue their service at home.

About the NFL Players Association
The National Football League Players Association is the union for professional football players in the National Football League. Established in 1956, the NFLPA has a long history of assuring proper recognition and representation of players’ interests. The NFLPA has shown that it will do whatever is necessary to assure that the rights of players are protected—including ceasing to be a union, if necessary, as it did in 1989. In 1993, the NFLPA again was officially recognized as the union representing the players, and negotiated a landmark Collective Bargaining Agreement with the NFL. The current CBA will govern the sport through 2020.
