If you saw Tom Hanks at the 2012 Oscars ceremony, then you’ve already seen the 6. Or you might have seen the 6 on Carson Daly, during a recent episode of NBC’s The Voice. Celebrities have already been showing that they’ve got veterans’ 6 by wearing the Got Your 6 logo. It’s part of the effort to engage all Americans about issues and needs to help veterans reintegrate successfully into society; that they’ve said to veterans, “We’ve Got Your 6.” Brian Williams of NBC Nightly News and Rock Center, Howie Mandel of NBC’s Deal or No Deal and America’s Got Talent, and Claire Danes and Damian Lewis of Showtime’s Homeland have all taken a stand to wear the 6 and to show their support for America’s service men and women. More will. So can you. Got Your 6 is an effort led by the entertainment industry to engage both civilians and veterans on the needs facing the more than one million service men and women who will return to our communities over the next five years. It is about recognizing veterans’ continuing desire to serve with civilians in our towns and throughout our nation. See the 6. Show your 6. Get their 6.
