IAVA Gathers Vets for Windy City Smart Job Fair

It’s well-known that your average job fair doesn’t work – there are too many employers, it’s difficult to have meaningful interactions with recruiters and HR personnel, and you’re surrounded by job seekers of all different levels and experience.
IAVA is looking to change all of that. Last summer, as part of a CGI America commitment, IAVA and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce decided to take job fairs to the next level. Now, we’re hosting effective, innovative and useful Smart Job Fairs around the country that are designed to connect veterans with critical transition resources, like resume reviews, interview skills training and more to help veterans transition from combat to career. And most importantly, we’re connecting veterans to employers who are actively looking to hire veterans.
Next up? We’ll be in Chicago on Wednesday, June 6 at the Hilton Chicago at 720 South Michigan Ave from 9:00AM – 1:00PM. Registration is free for all IAVA Member Veterans. If you are a military spouse or served in Iraq or Afghanistan and are not yet an IAVA member, you can still register for the Smart Job Fair. Just make sure to bring paperwork showing that you or your spouse served in Iraq and/or Afghanistan on the day of the event.
